Hey, it’s me—your Merino Performance Innerwear. We’ve been through a lot together. You’ve taken me on all-day treks to gorgeous alpine lakes, while I tried to keep you as cool and comfy as I could. We’ve been Nordic skiing in fresh snow (I did my best to keep your buns nice and toasty!) Together, we’ve spent some glorious hours napping on your sun-drenched couch. I’ve gotta say: I’m in it for the long haul. Let’s keep this going, shall we?
As you know, I was made with care—crafted from natural, sustainable fibers that are built to last. But even the strongest Innerwear-relationship needs a little TLC. So if we want to keep this relationship going (and I hope you do), here’s how we make it work.
Oh—and one more thing. Taking care of me isn’t just good for your drawer, your wallet, and your skin. It’s also good for the planet. Every year, 11 million tons of clothing end up in U.S. landfills. When you keep me around longer, you’re helping change that. One less throwaway bra at a time.
So let’s get into it.

CLEAN ME RIGHT
Let’s start with the basics. When it comes to cleaning, I’m pretty easy! Some might even say low maintenance. Here's how to help me stay fresh without wearing me out:
No need to wash me every time
Merino wool is naturally odor-resistant. That means if things didn’t get too sweaty, I’m totally fine with a little fresh air. It naturally removes any smelliness while helping to keep my fibers intact.
Use cool water
Hot water stresses me (and my fibers!) out. Cool water gets the job done without shrinking, fading, or breaking me down. Plus, it saves energy, too. Something we both love.

Gentle touch, please
If I’m going in the machine, please toss me in a mesh laundry bag and use the delicate setting. Even better? A quick hand wash. Ah, touch… my love language. Let’s save the spa day for when we can enjoy it together!
Use wool-friendly soap
I prefer a mild, pH-balanced detergent that’s designed for wool—nothing harsh or heavy and skip the protease enzymes please. Think of it like skincare, underwear style.
Skip the dryer
Unless we’re talking about a summer adventure or steamy yoga class, heat is not my thing. Lay me flat to dry and I’ll stay in shape for years.

FIX ME UP
So maybe I get a snag. A stretched-out strap. A little pilling here and there. It’s cool—it means I’m well-loved. And luckily, you can help me bounce back.
I love a good darning
Small holes don’t scare me. A little darning or patching gives me a second life—and adds some character too.
Editor’s note: You don’t need fancy tools to darn, a needle and thread will do! Check out a few amazing creators like Marlen Meiners or Donna Wilson for tutorials.
Replace my straps
If my straps are losing their snap, I can still be salvaged! Swapping in new ones is a simple fix. Not into sewing? Your local tailor’s got you.

Use a dye bath
If I’m looking a little faded, just give me a color refresh. A quick dye bath can bring me back to life—or help me try on a whole new look. Who wouldn't want to go through the world with a new lease on life? Pro-tip, start light and then work our way to the end of the color wheel. Natural dye, of course, if you please!
Editor’s note: Check out this helpful guide from The Good Trade on natural dyeing.
De-pill me with a fabric shaver
I don’t pill much. Thanks to the high-quality wool that I’m made from, it’s just not my thing! But now and again, pilling can happen, especially in areas where friction is high. Fuzz and pills are signs of love, but a quick gentle pass with a comb or a fabric shaver can help me look fresh and new again.
STORE ME SAFELY
Even when I’m off duty, I still love to be comfortable. How you store me can make a big difference in how long I last.
Give me some air
If I’m sweaty, let me air out before throwing me in the hamper or closet. When I’m sweaty without the space to air out, mildew can creep in—no one likes that!
Keep moths at bay
Moths love wool. I get it—I’m irresistible. But we don’t have to make it easy for them. Make sure I’m clean and dry before putting me away, and add cedar blocks or a few drops of essential oils (lavender, mint, eucalyptus) to keep the bugs at bay.
Let me breathe
Plastic bins trap moisture. I prefer something breathable—like a loosely packed draw or a cotton bag that has some nice air flow.
That’s it! Thank you again for the miles and moments. Consider this a love note from me to you. Merino Performance Innerwear, signing off! I love you!
