Essential Bralette

I’d been wanting a merino bralette for a while and Branwyn had really good reviews. I’m a 34b, and based on the sizing, I went with medium. I got both black and tan. When they first arrived, they were very tight across my ribs and I had to stretch them out. Over time they got more comfortable but I wouldn’t say that I forget I’m wearing them. They were a little itchy at first but have softened up over time. The band does seem to rise up a bit and I find myself pulling it down. The “cups” are also not very big, even on a chest that isn’t very big. Overall, I like the merino and they will be good for travel. I don’t like the pattern on the tan bra and wish it was solid. I’m going to keep the bralettes because I like them more than I don’t, but I don’t think they’re perfect, particularly for the price.

When I first put the bralette on, I thought to myself that it wasn’t soft but more on the itchy side then I told myself I was gonna wear it for one day and I stopped noticing the itchiness and it’s now super comfortable and soft. I ordered my reg size and I ordered 1 size up in the undies and they both fit perfect.

Firstly, this was a LOOOT for me to spend on bras (the welcome discount helped) :) I think they were worth it though to add to my undergarment wardrobe. I also quite wearing formal bras years ago. Basically just weddings and events, lol.

I have pretty small tatas (a/aa) and this still gives a nice shape. I do tend to still stick foam pads in it for everyday, which I guess defeats the wool bit, but looks nicer under certain shirts. Anyway, I really enjoy these bralettes and bought in nude and black. And I don't need a whole drawer since they wear quite a few times before needing a wash!

The low scoop neck and the floral pattern weaved in in a nice, feminine touch for an otherwise "unsexy" type of undergarment.

I can't say there is anything wrong with this bralette! I do wish that it were a bit more "longline" so the band doesn't ride up, but that's more of a personal preference. I would LOVE if they would make more of a longline bra/tank type undershirt! I used to wear the PACT ribbed racerback tanks and no bra and loved them, but they're a bit thick and also stay damp when you get sweaty.

I wish these came in more lovely colors, but also appreciate their focus on sustainability.

I got started on wool undies this year because regular undies and bras on my motorcycle were gross and....causing problems.

I've had them a few months and only washed less than a dozen times. I machine wash in a high quality garment bag and then hang dry and they seem to be holding up.

I'm a bit concerned about the type of detergent and it seems hard to find a reliable wool-friendly detergent that is also scent free and actually works. I tried the Dirty Labs one and was NOT impressed (especially for undies). So I went back to my Seventh Generation clean n clear, but I think the enzymes might damage the wool over time. Anyway, that's something to consider. (Branwyn support please feel free to chime in here!)

The fact that I can wear this bra over and over and not worry about odor or bacteria just blows my mind. I've worn it two times already and it is soft. I washed it just for good measure but it was soft even before I washed it. This is a wonderful investment and I cannot wait to add more to my collection.

I bought this to test as I will be one bag traveling this winter. I’m two days in and I really like how it feels. No itch. The band on the bottom does bunch up but it doesn’t feel uncomfortable, sometimes I can’t feel it. It’s very soft. I’m likely going to buy more.
